In December 2023, the UK Government announced a £2 billion funding package with the aim of creating a world-leading hydrogen industry across the UK over the next 15 years. The government have affirmed their support for 11 major projects to produce green hydrogen, confirming that suppliers will receive a guaranteed price for the clean energy they supply. This is the largest number of commercial scale green hydrogen projects announced at once anywhere in Europe.
